Ozone Odor Control System

Using Ozone Technology Is The Most Cost Effective and Environmentally Friendly Way To Control Odor.

The “rotten egg” smell associated with stale sewage can be a thing of the past with the McNeill Ozone Odor Control System. This proven technology is simply the most cost effective solution on the market today.

This proprietary McNeill system uses a fogging system by which ozone, along with water, and a fast acting oxidant, PROXONE™ creates a misting of ozone-rich fog which oxidized the hydrogen sulfides emitting from the sewage within a lift station wetwell, or an enclosed headworks, at the head of a wastewater treatment plant.

The McNeill Ozone Odor Control System (MOOCS) is designed to neutralize odors in Sewage Lift Stations and Headworks receiving raw sewage at the influent of wastewater treatment facilities.

Using this Ozone Based Technology, the McNeill Ozone Odor Control System is able to deliver excellent results at a lower initial cost and without the need to continuously purchase costly chemicals.

Ozone disinfects up to 3,000 times faster – and far more completely – than Chlorine and since Ozone is not a chemical, it leaves no chemical by-products in the treated water and air.

McNeill has been using Ozone Based Technology, for disinfection in both potable water plants and in the treatment of wastewater effluent since 2003. Applying this technology to odor control was a natural extension of our experience with ozone technology.

Ozone is very effective in neutralizing odors in the air. Automobile dealers and hotel operators have long used ozone to neutralize smoke residue. Fire restoration specialists use ozone to take the burnt smell from houses after a fire.

The new McNeill Ozone Odor Control System employs ozone technology that is effective in eliminating the “rotten-egg” odor which often is emitted from raw sewage lift stations and headworks of wastewater treatment plants. This odor is created by the stale sewage that stays in the force main piping systems for long periods, which creates hydrogen sulfide.

This proprietary McNeill system uses a fogging system with which ozone, along with water creates a misting of highly ozone-rich fog which oxidizes the hydrogen sulfides emitting from the sewage within a lift station wetwell, or an enclosed headworks, at the head of a wastewater treatment plant.

Sludge Dewatering Belt Press

The increasing cost of sludge treatment and disposal challenges owners and operators with locating a more economical solution for dealing with sludge. Compared to other methods of sludge disposal, the McNeill Water and Wastewater, Inc., sludge dewatering belt press saves money through increased production, reduction in labor, maximizing polymer effectiveness and producing low cake water content.

Static Screens

McNeill Water and Wastewater, Inc., did not invent the Static Screen, but it has made the most significant improvements in the application of Static Screens, or Parabolic Screens, since they were invented.

Requirements to meet Class I, or Class III Hydraulic Dependability necessitate dual screens be provided in wastewater treatment facilities. To meet this requirement, and to provide the operators more flexibility, McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., has developed a Dual Screen Cabinet with a built in By-Pass to the plant. The operator has the option to use Screen 1, Screen 2, Both Screens or to By-pass the screens to go directly to the plant. This is done with one influent line, one effluent line and no exterior valves. (Pat. Pending)

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., has also improved the function of the static screen by designing an option to include Grit Removal within the same structure.(Pat. Pending)

Sewage Lift Stations

McNeill Water & Wastewater Inc., manufactures the following types of sewage lift stations:

Submersible
The most commonly used lift stations today are Submersible. McNeill Water & Wastewater Inc., Submersible Lift Station is unique and includes the following features:

• Two compartment valve-box becomes the top section of the wetwell
• Valve box is shipped pre-piped and pre-painted
• Electrical pre-wiring eliminates conduit runs to the control panel
• NEMA IV Aluminum Control Panel
• Allen-Bradley Motor Controls
• Full Safety Dead Front
• Elapsed Time Meters
• Combination Control Panel Mounting Stand/Wiring Chase
• Pumps would normally be by Goulds or Peabody Barnes unless a specific type is requested.

The design of the valve box eliminates differential settling between the wetwell and the valve box and a normal installation is completed in one day.

Self-Priming
McNeill manufactures a package Self-Priming Lift Station, which is pre-assembled and skid mounted.

Normally the entire mechanical and electrical package would be mounted on a precast concrete slab, which would become the top of the wetwell. The station is shipped pre-wired and pre-piped. Installation is normally completed in one day.

Self-Priming lift stations can be provided in a precast concrete pump chamber with ceramic tile flooring and epoxy lined for below ground installation. Pumps would normally be by Crown or ITT Marlow, unless a specific type is requested..


Dual Barscreens

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a complete line of bar screens in both single and dual designs. The standard sizes vary from a width of 9" to 42".

Bar spacing can be varied for the application, but it is recommended that .5" be used on plants up to .5 MGD and that 1.0" be used on plants over .5 MGD.

Standard Features Include:

Additional Features of Dual Screens:

Automatic Raking Barscreens

The performance of a wastewater treatment plant is influenced greatly by the effectiveness of the trash removal system at the head of the plant. Due to the high cost of automatic trash removal systems, most small plants are relegated to using the manual barscreens.

These barscreens require manual cleaning and wet bagging of trash removed from the barscreen. Traditionally, these screens are designed with a very coarse bar spacing to avoid "blinding" of the screen when unattended. This results in a significant amount of trash going in to the treatment process.

McNeill Water & Wastewater Inc., has developed an automatic raking barscreen (ARB) that is designed to efficiently serve smaller wastewater treatment plants and at a very affordable price. The McNeill ARB provides bar spacing as small as ¬ inch, providing efficient removal of trash. Very small package plants can be outfitted with a McNeill ARB for less than $7,000.

Medium municipal plants can be outfitted with a McNeill ARB for less then $10,000. Prior to the McNeill ARB the budget for automatic trash removal ranged from $30,000. to $150,000.

McNeill also offers a municipal lease purchase plan at tax-free rates. Payments can be set up from 12 months to 72 months to meet the owner's cash flow requirements. At the end of the lease period, ownership converts to the purchaser, with no cash buy out.


Flow Splitter Boxes

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a complete line of structural aluminum flow splitter boxes. The most common type is utilized for flow equalization in conjunction with a surge control system.

These boxes provide flow proportioning to allow a constant rate directed toward the treatment plant with the excess returning to the Surge, or Equalization Tank. Boxes are also available to split the flows between two treatment paths.

The Standard Features include:

Blower Stand Assemblies


McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., offers a complete line of structural aluminum blower stands. Each model blower stand is designed to accommodate the installation of rotary blowers, motors, piping and accessories required for a complete system.

The assemblies are available in Simplex, Duplex or Triplex designs. Each stand is fabricated of structural aluminum and includes all stainless steel anchors, fasteners and hardware.

All stands include a V-Belt Safety Guard for operator protection and vibration isolators. An optional hinged aluminum cover is available.


Telescoping Valves

McNeill Water and Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a complete line of telescoping valves. The standard sizes range from 3"; up to 24". Telescoping valves can be provided without the hand wheel operators on the 3"; and 4" sizes.

Standard features are as follows:

Aluminum Stairways

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a complete line of structural aluminum stairways. All units are fabricated of structural aluminum and designed to meet all OSHA and safety requirements.

All fasteners and hardware are of stainless steel. All tread plates are of anti-skid materials. All handrails are of structural aluminum and built to OSHA Standards.


Aluminum Handrails

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures structural aluminum handrails in various configurations. All units are fabricated of structural aluminum and designed to meet all OSHA and safety requirements.

All fasteners and hardware are of stainless steel. Handrail units are fabricated of either welded unit construction or field assembled using cast aluminum fittings.


Aluminum Ladders

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a complete line of structural aluminum ladders. All units are fabricated of structural aluminum and designed to meet all OSHA and safety requirements.

All fasteners and hardware are of stainless steel. All ladder rungs are secured to the vertical ladder supports by first drilling and then welding to provide a secure connection to the vertical supports. All ladders are provided with extensions of the vertical ladder supports to provide a walk through safety feature.


Precast Concrete Hoppers

McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures precast concrete hoppers for installation in clarifiers and other applications. The precast hoppers save time and the difficulty of forming hoppers in place.

The hoppers are cast of 4,000 PSI, 28 Day Concrete, using Type II Cement. Each unit has reinforcing dowels protruding around the upper perimeter to allow proper connection to the poured in place foundation slab to surround each hopper.

Precast concrete hoppers are available in the following sizes:

• 5'-0" x 5'-0"
• 6'-0" x 6'-0"
• 7'-0" x 7'-0"
• 8'-0" x 8'-0"


Precast Concrete Walkways

McNeill Water and Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a variety of Precast Concrete Walkways. The typical walkway is 6" thick and 3.0' wide with a keyway recessed in the bottom. All edges of the walkways are beveled.

Each walkway is secured by 14" stainless steel all thread rod which is anchored with an epoxy grout. The walkways are cast with a two step hole for each of the anchor rods and are provided with a cap to cover the penetration and rod.

The walkways normally save several weeks of construction time by eliminating overhead pouring of walkways and allow the walls to be poured with a smooth and edged top without dowels.


Fiberglass Enclosures


McNeill Water & Wastewater, Inc., manufactures a variety of Fiberglass Enclosures. All enclosures are provided with or without a fiberglass floor molded in the structure. All structures are designed to be used for commercial use and have all stainless steel hinges, fasteners and hardware.

The buildings can be provided with fiberglass "mushroom" vents or divider walls creating multiple compartments. These Fiberglass Enclosures are especially useful for chemical feed, instrumentation housing or equipment rooms.

The following sizes are available:
